Back in March a group of WallStreetWindow and Dave Skarica's AddictedtoProfits members and I met in Las Vegas.  I didn't organize the event.  It was planned by a group of members led by Lance M.  He lives in Vegas and with his connections in the casino industry put it together.  We met in the Luxor, put on an afternoon conference, had a nice golf outing, and a wonderful time at his home, where he invited us all for a fine dinner party.  About 30 people showed up and everyone had a blast.  It was fun and almost free, because everyone could write the costs off on their taxes.

I'm very grateful to Lance for having put this on for us. Without him the event would not have happened.

Dave Skarica has planned a similar event in the Bahamas.  In March 2009, we are going to meet in Nassau, Bahamas for a two day seminar and get together.  The seminar will be on the first day and last for about five hours.  Both of us will give presentations and so will several hand picked mining and exploration companies.  We also will have a keynote speaker - most likely Bill Murphy of GATA who has confirmed that he is going to come.

For those that don't know Murphy he is one of the biggest forces in the gold investment world.  He is the owner of Lemetropolecafe.com, the largest private gold investment website on the internet, and the founder of GATA - the Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee.  He has served as the keynote speaker at investment conferences with several thousand people in attendance so getting him to come into a one-on-one environment is going to be a real treat.

We really have two purposes with this conference.  First to give you an opportunity to meet not only us personally, but key insiders in the gold industry.  The people we are inviting are not simply people running gold exploration companies, but the powers behind many gold companies - the men who don't just run them, but create them. 

These are well connected financiers in the gold industry.  It is very difficult to meet these people at one of the big gold investment conferences, because they tend to operate totally behind the scenes. You won't find them sitting behind a booth and if you saw one of them walking around you most likely would not even know who they are.   They are going to give us their view on what is happening in the gold market and where they see the opportunities to make money.

With gold prices and gold stocks depressed right now we believe this will be the perfect time to learn this information and gain these first hand connections.

Secondly - and just as importantly - this is going to be a lot of fun.  This isn't going to be something where you are just going to sit there for hours on end and listen to people give a bunch of speeches.  We have scheduled the conference and seminar time to be fairly short so that we'll have plenty of time for socializing and networking with each other.  I'm really looking forward to meeting you.

 

The dates of the conference will be March 26th-27th, 2009.  We'll have a preliminary get together in a bar or restaurant on the evening of the 25th.  On the 26th the conference will start in the morning and end early afternoon.  After that we plan to have dinner on a yacht at the Atlantis Resort and Casino. 

On March 27th we are going to bus everyone to the tennis and golf club at Lyford Cay, a luxury resort community about 15 miles west of Paradise island.  It is home to Sean Connery, Sir John Templeton, and Henry Ford II.   We're going to have a day of golf, tennis, or simple socializing there.  We will then eat dinner at a house in Lyford.

I believe you will have a fantastic time on this trip.  I've been to the Bahamas three times myself and Dave has lived there for several years now.  That is what makes it special.  When I have gone there I did not feel like a typical tourist.  I wasn't on a simple vacation of going out to dinner every day and doing all of the touristy stuff.  I knew Dave who lives there and knows where all of the real places to go are.  Going there has been an experience for me and not a normal vacation, because I know people there.   I wasn't in a world of strangers and that made it awesome.  I think you will see what I mean when you look back on this trip.
